“After the first 99 percent of Mega Man 2 builds up tension and spectacle, the final moments quietly strip away the artifice, layer by layer.”

—John Teti explores the poignant truths about our hero and his nemesis revealed by the ending of Mega Man 2.

I’ve posted this before, but I don’t care—it’s the greatest thing of all time.  (oh yeah, & the Teti piece is good too.)

my Mega Man knowledge is mainly from the PS3 reboots, so I knew not of Mummira…but he seems pretty awesome.
on a related note, more than a decade ago some friends of mine encountered some graffiti in a New York subway station saying “mummy can dance,” “mummy is a dirty slut,” & “$2 mummy whore.” I don’t have anything to add by way of explanation, I just feel like more people need to know that existed. (also, residents of a certain Lakeview apartment building in Chicago may have noticed similar statements on the emergency evacuation plan posted on the elevator…& while I’m sure I have no idea how that happened, I can only imagine alcohol was involved.)

Mega Man Created Using Post-it Notes

Sometimes being bored in your office can pay off.

I may need to do this in my home if I ever have a big enough wall. (I was going to say “…& enough post-it notes,” but I feel like that hurdle is much more easily overcome.)

On the eve of Father’s Day, we pay tribute to gaming’s worst daddy issues.

this is an awesome list. & I love that it starts with Dr. Light, because I’ll take any excuse to post this video (which in my mind is Mega Man canon):
