so, we bought some Safeway basil to make pesto with the other night, & for some reason I started reading the recipe inside the package on the way to throw it in the recycling. I think I was intrigued in by the fact that they were promoting a pasta “with basil & pine nuts” but not calling it pesto.now, I realize the recipes on these things are already kind of pointless, because who’s just buying random herbs, taking them out of the package, & then hoping there’s some suggestions of how to use them.but this recipe, unnecessary though it may be, has one crucial flaw. one very crucial flaw. can you spot what it is? hint: imagine getting to the end of the recipe, then looking confusedly at the 3/4-cup of chopped basil that’s still sitting on the counter.
…what the heck. (also, that is a LOT of olive oil.)
